The March 2nd Primary Election is upon us!  Most of us think VOTING at the ballot box is the only thing we can do to have a say in our government! BUT IT IS JUST THE FIRST STEP!! YOU CAN DO MORE!
The Republican Precinct Conventions (meeting/caucus) will take place at your Election Day precinct voting location March 2 (at 8:00 p.m., in Montgomery Co. ) . (Democrats will be meeting at 7:15 p.m.)  If you don't vote in the Primary Election, you cannot attend the Precint meeting.

Sample Ballots
Find your voting precinct with polling location, map, picture, and directions.

Want to see some changes for the better within the Party? Then don’t complain--get more involved (not less)!

The neighborhood precinct meeting/caucus and county conventions (several weeks later) are the grassroots beginning of the Party and Platform.    Consider taking at least one - two resolutions (in triplicate, one issue per page) to present to your group on March 2.

Quick ONLINE TRAINING is provided by the leaders of the REPUBLICAN PARTY of TEXAS for those who want to learn or refresh their memory of how the process works.

A RESOLUTION is a statement of principle that is voted on at a political convention. Scroll all the way down for some sample resolutions. And feel free to bring your own.

SAMPLE RESOLUTIONS:
(Feel free to cut and paste - one per page, providing 3 copies each. Or feel free to bring your own.)

HEALTH CARE REFORM
(From Texas Eagle Forum)
WHEREAS, the healthcare bill put forth by President Barack Obama and the Democrat members of Congress is unconstitutional and will create a complicated bureaucracy of government offices and programs that come between patients and healthcare providers; and,

WHEREAS, the bill would lead to a government-controlled healthcare system similar to the ones found in England and Canada, where patients must wait months for care that currently is routine in the United States; and

WHEREAS most citizens agree that the U.S. healthcare system is the best in the world,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, the people, oppose any legislation that imposes any government control over our health care, increased government mandates or price controls, new government programs or the expansion of existing programs; we also urge passage of healthcare reform which results in more affordable healthcare through a competitive, open, and transparent health care system including TORT reform where America’s families choose their own doctor and health care plans.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be sent to the ____________ Senatorial/County Convention Resolutions Committee from Precinct #______of the _____________County ________________Party, with the recommendation that it be passed and sent to the State Convention Platform Committee of the _______________ Party of Texas.

Effective Health Care Reform
(From Rocky Alexander)

WHEREAS, we desire to retain the Blessings of Liberty as secured to us by our Founding Fathers and as expressed in our Constitution and we reject the imposition upon us of any new, Washington-controlled system of government-run health care.

WHEREAS, we demand protection of the right to make our own health decisions and our own health care choices free of government denials, bureaucratic red-tape, and greater intergenerational debt which has been provided for in the Constitution.

WHEREAS, a government takeover of American health care will (1) deny fundamental personal and economic liberties and indisputably violate the Principle of Limited Government as established by the Constitution, (2) impose increased costs and taxes upon individuals, families, and businesses, as well as taxpayers at the federal, state, and local levels, (3) irreparably cripple the American economy, at the cost of jobs, businesses, productivity, and quality of life, (4) create an inescapable new tax by imposing individual and employer mandates; institutionalize a massive, ever-expanding federal bureaucracy that is impersonal and impractical, and (5) empower bureaucrats to interfere in the doctor-patient relationship, undermine the quality of care, limit choice, and increase the cost of health care.

WHEREAS, to date the insurance industry has failed in its effort to provide affordable health insurance to a majority of Americans by designing plans that effectively separate the direct accountability between the consumer and healthcare providers through the use of private networks. Likewise, consumers are unable to evaluate the cost of services up front. Networks require codes for services, providers aren’t sure up front which codes will be deemed for services rendered, and consumers are told by providers that the price depends upon the network and carrier. This prevents the consumer from being able to shop price and quality of care. Larger insurance company networks have discouraged competition in the marketplace by monopolizing lower discounts with healthcare providers and thereby driving out competition. With fewer insurance carriers competing, providers are losing the incentive to compete and keep prices down and quality of care high. In an effective free enterprise system, the consumer needs to be able to understand price and services rendered before making health care decisions.

WHEREAS, governmental authorities (both federal and state) have been guilty in allowing this travesty to occur.

BE IT RESOLVED that health care reform as a matter of principle must (1) protect as inviolate the vital doctor-patient relationship, (2) reject any addition to the crushing national debt heaped upon all Americans, (3) improve, rather than diminish, the quality of care that Americans enjoy, (4) be negotiated publicly, transparently, with genuine accountability and oversight, and be free from political favoritism, (5) treat private citizens at least as well as political officials, (6) protect taxpayers from compulsory funding of abortion, (7) reject all new mandates on patients, employers, individuals, or states, (8) prohibit expansion of taxpayer funded health care to those unlawfully present in the United States, (9) guarantee Equal Protection under the law and the Constitution, and (10) empower, rather than limit, an open and accessible marketplace of health care choice and opportunity.

BE IT RESOLVED that we demand an end to insurance company provider networks which are effectively being used as a “Price Fixing
scheme between insurance companies and health care providers. This will effectively remove the cloak of darkness that insurance networks have placed over consumers. Health care providers should be directly accountable to the consumer.

BE IT RESOLVED that access to care for the uninsured (due to costs) should be limited to only certain designated hospitals and clinics within a particular area in an effort to prevent diminished services and increased costs for the insured.

BE IT RESOLVED that individual insurance policies should be required to give credit for prior coverage thereby eliminating exclusions for pre-existing conditions in the same manner that group insurance policies are now required to do. This will effectively encourage expanded participation in health insurance coverage.

BE IT RESOLVED that in order to level the playing field, insurance companies should only provide plans that either pay on a schedule of benefits or as a percentage of Medicare coverage.

BE IT RESOLVED that in order to prevent the financial waste of unnecessary medical services prescribed by providers out of fear of frivolous lawsuits, meaningful national tort reform should be passed covering the entire country.

BE IT RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be sent from Precinct ___________ of the ___________________________ Party of _______________________ County to the _______ Senatorial/County Convention Resolutions Chairman with the recommendation that it be passed and forwarded to the Platform Committee of the State Convention of the ___________________________ Party of Texas.

WHEREAS, the 2008 Platform advances the founding principles of freedom and limited government and the dignity and worth of every individual, including the unborn;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we support the re-adoption of the 2008 _____________Party Platform for 2010, with the understanding that resolutions of current interest may be added at the state convention. We further support the reading of the Platform by every Party member whether they are running for office or not.
Be it further resolved, that a copy of this resolution be sent to the ________________ Senatorial/County Convention Resolutions Committee from Precinct #_____ of the ______________County ________________Party, with the recommendation that it be passed and sent to the State Convention Platform Committee of the ________________ Party of Texas.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
(From Texas Eagle Forum)
WHEREAS, The federal government’s failure to fulfill its responsibility in the area of illegal immigration, during both Democratic and Republican administrations, has led to the crisis we now face; and

WHEREAS, The federal government has not only failed to control the borders but failed in its responsibility to enforce the immigration laws, not only with regard to the individuals who are here illegally, but also with regard to the employers who knowingly hire them; and

WHEREAS, There are reportedly 12 million immigrants and counting who are living and working in America without legal status, many of whom have children who are American citizens by birth; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we urge the federal government to provide for the security of our nation by controlling and securing our borders and enforce all immigration laws, including the laws directed at employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL CZARS
(From Texas Eagle Forum)
WHEREAS, President Obama has gone far beyond his predecessors in appointing over 40 “czars who were never elected, never confirmed by the Senate, and have immense power over our government and our lives, and

WHEREAS, they enjoy wide-ranging bureaucratic authority beyond the purview of Congress, earn six-figure salaries, and exhibit political views that reflect a distinct tilt to socialism/communism.

THEREFORE BE It RESOLVED that we urge the Congress to use their full Constitutional authority to abolish Obama’s czars and return this country back to the Republic upon which it was founded.

NO CAP AND TRADE
(From Texas Eagle Forum)
WHEREAS, the “cap-and-trade bill, which passed the House in June and is currently in the Senate, whose purpose is reducing greenhouse gas emissions and global warming by creating a system of pollution permits that energy companies must buy before releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere; and

WHEREAS, the whole reason for existence of the expensive cap and trade scheme in H.R. 2454 is based on the theory of the global warming myth that man’s activities are producing significant temperature increases, rather than natural weather cycles; and

WHEREAS, this bill would establish a whole new unconstitutional activity of the federal government and give it yet another regulatory tool for increasing the cost of doing business, which would translate into higher costs for taxpayers in an already unstable economy;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, we urge the Senate to defeat this unconstitutional grab for power and open up America’s vast natural resources for energy independence and economic growth, thereby eliminating the dependence on China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and other foreign countries for our energy needs.

STOP GOVERNMENT SPENDING!
(From Texas Eagle Forum)
WHEREAS, spending is out of the control in Washington. According to the U.S. National Debt Clock, our national debt is currently over $12 Trillion and is increasing every day by $3.94 Billion. By September 2012, the national debt will reach $16.2 Trillion and every American will essentially be responsible for over $50,000 of the burden; and

WHEREAS, we cannot afford additional stimulus packages, bailouts, and government expansions, which will further increase our national debt and mortgage the economic freedom of future generations.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, we are calling on President Barack Obama and Congress to stop deficit spending now and stop pushing new government programs in the name of saving our economy. We call on them to balance the budget and remember the taxpayers of today and those of tomorrow who will be called on to pay back Trillions of dollars in federal debt.

KEEP THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT
(From Texas Eagle Forum)
WHEREAS, the traditional definition of marriage has been defined as between one man and one woman and is the most fundamental institution of civilization; and

WHEREAS, the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was signed into law in 1996 and 31 states, including Texas , have adopted constitutional amendments protecting traditional marriage; and

WHEREAS, President Barack Obama and his Department of Justice are seeking to overturn DOMA by filing a brief stating “…this Administration does not support DOMA as a matter of policy, [and] believes it is discriminatory and supports its repeal.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, we oppose any effort by the Obama Administration to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and urge Congress to use its Article III, Section 2 power to prevent activist federal judges from imposing upon the rest of the nation the judicial activism in Massachusetts and California.

Want to see some changes for the better in the Republican Party? Then don’t complain--Get more involved (not less)!

Problem is that it’s not so much the Party as it is the candidates who run for public office who aren’t upholding the conservative platform they run under. (Virtually anybody can run for office if they’re willing to pay the filing fee!) FYI, many potentially excellent candidates won’t run for office because they don’t want to be vilified and attacked by liars and the liberal media. Excellent candidates need volunteers and contributions. Find a good one and jump onboard! And if you’re not involved, don’t complain.

A TRAINING MEETING led by Brian Crumby (of the Conservative Coalition of Montgomery Co.) will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 6:30 p.m.

Location is 26710 Interstate 45 North - Oak Ridge North - TX 77386 – (behind Sam’s Boat) – N. Houston Tea Party office.

Brian will be explaining about the Republican Precinct Meeting/Caucus (conventions)which will take place at your election day precinct voting location at 8:00 p.m., (Montgomery Co. only) March 2, on the night of the election. This training is for those who want to learn or refresh their memory of how the process works.

The precinct meeting/caucus and county conventions are two key meetings of the Republican Party grassroots.   You should take at least a couple of resolutions (in triplicate), one issue per page, along with you to present to your group. This is the grassroots beginning of the Republican Party Platform and I’ll be emailing samples of these to you next week-end.

IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND, ONLINE TRAINING is AVAILABLE HERE:

There are 5 excellent propositions on the Republican ballot (scroll down) but there are no propositions on the Democrat ballot.  (--Most Democrats would vote NO on all of these.)   These help our legislature and governor know where we stand on these issues.  They would become law only if the next legislature files a bill and it passes both the House and Senate and is then signed by the Governor.

FYI, the Conservative Coalition of Montgomery Co. has done a lot of work to study the local candidates through questionnaires, interviews and debates.  The results of their work can be seen on their website - www.conservativecoalitionmc.org More links to helpful websites are below.

Keep in mind that most of these local elections will be decided in the Primary, as there are no Democrat opponents in November.

BALLOT PROPOSITIONS:

Ballot Proposition #1:
Photo ID

The Texas legislature should make it a priority to protect the integrity of our election process by enacting legislation that requires voters to provide valid photo identification in order to cast a ballot in any and all elections conducted in the State of Texas.
          ___YES    ____NO

Ballot Proposition #2:
Controlling GovernmentGrowth

Every government body in Texas should be required to limit any annual increase in its budget and spending to the combined increase of population and inflation unless it first gets voter approval to exceed the allowed annual growth or in the case of an official emergency.
          ___YES    ____NO

Ballot Proposition  #3:
Cutting Federal Income Taxes

In addition to aggressively eliminating irresponsible federal spending, Congress should empower American citizens to stimulate the economy by Congress cutting federal income taxes for all federal taxpayers, rather than spending hundreds of billions of dollars on so-called "federal economic stimulus".
          ___YES    ____NO

Ballot Proposition #4:
Public Acknowledgement of God

Guest Blog fro Amy Dawn:

Do You Know Your Constitution? Here are 4 Myths of Judicial Activism!

It has to be said.

If you missed tonight's Montgomery Eagle Forum with Rick Green of Wallbuilders, you REALLY missed out big time.  Rick spoke on the 4 myths of judicial activism:

Myth 1:  The three branches of govt are coequal.  [Simply not true.  Though if you go to the supreme court's website they state that they are.  This is NOT Constitutional!]

Myth 2:  Federal Judges have life-time appointments. [Nope.  This lie has been perpetuated and bought into my many Americans who simply do not know their Constitution.]

Myth 3:  Only judges are capable of determining constitutionality. [Not true either. Again, read the Constitution.]

Myth 4:  The primary role of the supreme court to protect the minority from the majority.  [So, not true and very unconstitutional.  In fact, just the opposite is true.  If you go to the supreme court website they have this listed as if it is true.]

If only we, Americans read our Constitution weekly.  If we don't know what our freedoms are then we won't know when we lose them.  Crying

FYI:  Rick Green is running for Texas Supreme Court.  Check him out.  He is also a speaker for the organization for Wallbuilders.  www.wallbuilders.com

This should be read by every Christian in the state of Texas!  Liberals are going on attack mode. Conservatives beware, keep informed and be ready to defend your positions on March 2nd - the Primary Election!

From: Donna Garner
Sent: Wednesday, December 16, 2009
Subject: LAWYER-LOBBYISTS RUNNING FOR TX. STATE BD. OF ED.
           -- THE LONE STAR REPORT -- WILL LUTZ, 12.16.09

[Obviously, Texans need to be concerned when high-powered lawyer-lobbyists start having fundraisers to see how much money they can raise to help them defeat the seven conservatives on the Texas State Board of Education.

Lawyer-lobbyists are much too cozy with the education establishment, and William Ratliff (running against present SBOE member Don McLeroy) and Tim Tuggey (running against present SBOE member Ken Mercer) are not conservatives; at best they are RINO’s.  At worst, they are money-grubbing lobbyists who have their own vested interests in mind.

Had Ratliff and Tuggey been on the SBOE these last two years, the new-and-improved English standards and the world-class Science standards never would have been adopted. Neither would the new Social Standards have a chance of reflecting the rich intellectual and spiritual inheritance upon which our founding fathers built our nation.

When the Republican primary comes along in March 2010, all of us need to make sure that we re-elect the courageous members of the SBOE who have fought so hard to improve the academic excellence of our public schools.

Texas children certainly do not need their educational future built upon the vested interests of lawyer-lobbyists.

Below is Will Lutz’s update on the SBOE, an article by Abby Rapoport, and an explanation of Texas ’ lobbying regulations. -- Donna Garner]

12.16.09 -- The Lone Star Report

SBOE update: Playing with fire or circling the wagons?
Written by: William Lutz
12/16/2009 5:42 PM

Last week, I observed a development that raises ethical concerns in the race for State Board of Education District 9 between incumbent Don McLeroy and Thomas Ratliff.

The lobby held a fundraiser for Ratliff. (I've been forwarded several copies of the lobby invitation, one of which can be viewed here.) Several of the lobbyists listed as fundraiser sponsors represent companies that could have business before the State Board of Education. Some represent computer companies that pushed for legislation watering down state textbook quality control efforts and making it easier for computer companies to get state textbook money – bills that passed over the objection of several State Board of Education members. Others represent firms that have provided or could provide investment services to the Permanent School Fund. Still others have no direct connection to board business, but are simply Ratliff family friends.

I'm not the only one who noticed this. The Texas Tribune also wrote a story on this issue Dec. 4.  I have posted this below for easy reference. -- Donna Garner]

Normally, this would not be news. I don’t regularly report on who’s doing fundraisers for whom. But the State Board of Education is governed by a rather weird statute on who can give money – a statute written by Ratliff’s father, former Sen. Bill Ratliff (R-Mt. Pleasant). (In 1992, Ratliff narrowly survived a challenge from former State Board of Education member Bob Aikin (D-Paris) ).

The statute can be found at Education Code, Section 7.108 and reads as follows:

(a)  A person interested in selling bonds of any type or a person engaged in manufacturing, shipping, selling, or advertising textbooks or otherwise connected with the textbook business commits an offense if the person makes or authorizes a political contribution to or takes part in, directly or indirectly, the campaign of any person seeking election to or serving on the board.

Here’s the issue with this statute and why this matters – the board’s responsibilities affect more interests with lobbyists than it did in the mid-1990s when this statute was written. Back then, textbook publishers and education groups were the main outside lobby groups that cared about the board. Most of the permanent school fund assets were managed by state staff and not outsourced. So bond buyers and textbook publishers were the main interests with business in front of the board.

Now, that’s not the case. The board lets several very lucrative consulting contracts relating to the Permanent School Fund. Computer companies now want to raid textbook funds to buy laptops and other computer hardware, something they couldn’t do in 1995. And those computer companies sought – and got – from the Legislature an exemption from the state’s quality control standards. Computerized textbooks no longer have to cover even half the state’s curriculum and don’t go though the same rigorous public review and comment process that State Board of Education-adopted books do.

Several members of the State Board of Education fought this change, and it’s not much of a stretch to think there are some in the computer industry who won’t be happy about that. Ratliff himself is a lobbyist who lists Microsoft as a client.

While textbook publishers are expressly prohibited from giving money to a state board member, others with interests before the board are not.This may include lobbyists for independent school districts, school organizations, Permanent School Fund money managers and computer hardware manufacturers, among others.

I’m not naming names and connecting dots in this post. I would note, however, that Ratliff is required to report any contribution given at this fundraiser to the Ethics Commission on the contribution and expenditure report due Jan. 15.

When that report is filed, I will examine it carefully. I want to see which of these lobbyists gave money to Ratliff and in what amounts. And I want to see which of these contributions Ratliff chose to accept.

In all fairness, not all the people on this lobby invitation have business before the board. Some are personal friends of the Ratliff family.

But there’s a legitimate policy issue here for the Legislature – should all lobbyists with business before the State Board of Education be subject to a ban on contributing? I could understand a situation similar to the Legislature, where all have to disclose but there are no limits on contributions. And I could understand a blanket ban on all contributions from those with a financial interest. But current law has set up a system where some lobbyists with business before the board can’t contribute but others can. That’s not a fair or level playing field.

Additionally, this fundraiser invites careful scrutiny of upcoming ethics reports. I’ll keep our readers posted as more information comes to light.

2010: McLeroy vs. the World
by Abby Rapoport
December 4, 2009
text size AAA
State Board of Education races aren't normally known for drawing a spotlight, but candidate Thomas Ratliff is doing his best to raise the profile of his primary race against former SBOE chair Don McLeroy. Next week the lobbyist-turned-candidate will hold a fundraiser at the Austin Club and the Republican establishment is coming out in support.  It could spell a shift for McLeroy, an incumbent Republican who Perry once appointed chair of the board.
The event's host committee (see attached) is a who's-who of paid conservative lobbyists.There's Mike Toomey, who served as chief-of-staff to Governor Rick Perry between his stints as a power-broker and had 29 clients last session including AT&T and Liberty Mutual. And former senator David Sibley, who, along with Teel Bivins and Bill Ratliff (the candidate's father), were the powerful voices of the state senate during their tenure. He had 35 clients last session and is well known for his influence.
Then there are some education advocates in the mix: David Thompson has long been a fixture at education meetings and lobbies on behalf of several school districts.
Opponent Don McLeroy has been slow coming out of the gate and is already behind Ratliff in endorsements and fundraising. Last week, Ratliff garnered support from House Appropriations Chair Jim Pitts, R-Waxahachie, and House Calendars Chair Brian McCall, R-Plano, and next week's fundraiser will likely push Ratliff further ahead financially.
Of course the race isn't over yet. These endeavors highlight Ratliff's primary weakness — that he lobbies in Austin. McLeroy and his colleague Ken Mercer both face lobbyist primary challengers, and Mercer has argued repeatedly that lobbyists have no business running for office. McLeroy may be able to leverage his opponent's occupation if he energizes enough Christian conservatives to come out in support. But he may need to make those calls fast.

Lobby and lobbyists
Lobbying is the practice of direct communication with legislative or executive branch officials to influence their decisions about public policy. In Texas , where lawmakers work part time, lobbyists play a significant role in influencing legislation and shaping administrative action.
Many businesses and other groups pay lobbyists to represent their interests before the Texas Legislature and state agencies. A lobbyist generally is a salaried company employee or a professional, freelance lobbyist working alone or at a firm. Some lobbyists are lawyers, though legal training isn't required. Others are former state employees and officials whose experience can be valuable to clients.
Lobbyists working in the state are required to register with the Texas Ethics Commission. There are roughly 1,800 lobbyists on file with the commission who report any spending on state officials and employees, including the governor and lieutenant governor and members of the Texas Legislature. Their official contact with officers at state agencies, such as the Texas Commission on Environment Quality and the Texas Department of Transportation, also must be reported.
Lobbyists who spend more than $500 in a calendar quarter or are compensated more than $1,000 in a calendar quarter must register.
They are then required to report periodically their aggregate spending totals in six categories:
  • transportation and lodging;
  • food and beverages;
  • entertainment;
  • gifts;
  • awards and mementos; and
  • the attendance of a state officer or employee at a political fundraiser or charity event.

They also categorize their expenditures by recipient type:
  • state senators;
  • state representatives;
  • elected or appointed state officers, other than state senators or state representatives;
  • legislative agency employees;
  • executive agency employees;
  • immediate family (spouse and dependent children) of a state officer or employee;
  • expenditures for guests (when invited by a state senator, a state representative, other elected or appointed state officers, a legislative agency employee, or an executive agency employee);
  • expenditures for events to which all legislators are invited

Lobbyists must file detailed, or itemized, reports listing the names of recipients if they spend:
  • more than $100.80 (60% of the per diem for lawmakers) in one day for food and beverages, transportation, or lodging for a state officer or employee;
  • more than $100.80 (60% of the per diem for lawmakers) in one day for entertainment for a state officer or employee or for the spouse or dependent child of a state officer or employee;
  • more than $50 for a gift, award, or memento for a state officer or employee;
  • any amount for a state officer or employee to attend a political fundraiser or charity event.

Lobbyists' reports are available on the commission's
Web site and at its office, 201 East 14th St., 10th Floor, Austin, Texas, 78701. The commission made the reports available in a searchable format in April 2009.
The ethics commissions also provides a guide that explains Chapter 305 of the Texas Government Code, the statute governing lobbyists, which includes a complicated set of restrictions on their activity.

Pray first, then call the White House (202) 456-1414. We must respectfully put pressure on the President not to sign this treaty.

Views on the News by Ed Moore:

The only thing green about "The Green Movement" is the color of money. (Predominantly American greenbacks) Call it "global warming", call it "climate change", call it "environmentalism" or call it Copenhagen's "Climate Summit", a heist by any other name is still a heist. In this case, Copenhagen is proving to be the greatest money and political power grab in the history of the world. Next to the Copenhagen money grab, Bernie Madoff looks like a small-time, small-town chiseler.

     When we speak of Copenhagen, we are of course referring to the UN's so called Global Summit On Climate Change taking place December 7-18, 2009. (The starting date, December 7th, is once again a day that will live in infamy.) This summit is now hosting 100 world leaders and delegates from over 180 countries. Copenhagen is the latest and greatest global-governance orgy of the climate change prognosticators. It is the culmination of years of public deception and manipulation, and almost all of the world governments are complicit as accessories to the crime. Much of the public credit of course must go to Al Gore and his great, green, global, Trojan horse, better known as global warming.

     However, due to the recent exposure of "doctoring the evidence" and "cooking the scientific books" on climate change, the devastating (or should I say liberating) truth is now out of the bag. For those who have not heard yet - on or around November 20, some enterprising individual hacked the computers of the University of East Anglias, Climate Research Unit, (sponsored by the U.N.) and made off with thousands of e-mail messages and documents that have exposed the level of collusion and deception being practiced by so-called global scientists. As a result, global warming has been positively exposed as a scam, a sham, a shell game, and a shameful international shakedown! (With the first installment to the tune of 10 billion dollars alone!) Not surprisingly,the whole deceitful hoax has been conjured up and perpetrated on a global scale for the sole purpose of establishing and funding a global governance. (I.E. a one-world government without the consent of the governed)

     What's really at stake in Copenhagen is not only billions of American tax dollars, but America's national sovereignty as well. With American eyes diverted on health care and the war in Afghanistan, President Obama will soon climb inside the big green Trojan Horse (in this case, Air Force One) and head off to Copenhagen. He will arrive on or around December 18 as "the Summit's grand finale". Upon arrival, President Obama will be poised to sign away America's national sovereignty. (What a Christmas present from our very own Commander-In-Chief!)

     Make no mistake, this summit is dedicated to establishing a global governance to be founded on a global allegiance to the green-eyed, new-age god of Gaia, better known as earth worship.

     America, wake up! Our whole American way of life is in imminent danger. Copenhagen could very well be the first of the last nails in our national coffin. I hate to quote Michael Moore, but he was absolutely right when he said, "Empires never think the end is near, until the end is here." If America allows President Barrack Obama to sign on to the Copenhagen agreements, we will have signed a deal with the devil and an international pact with hell.

     Am I being too severe? Well, you be the judge. Consider...

     1. Environmentalism Is The Trojan Horse For A New-Age Global Religion. In 2003, the late Michael Crichton (Harvard graduate, writer and filmmaker, best known as the author of Jurassic Park and the creator of ER) was one of the first to send the ecology industry into a rage by exposing them as a religion. He got away with this because he had both a scientific background and enough money not to be silenced by the eco-lobby. Here is just one excerpt from Crichton's well known expose:

     "Today, one of the most powerful religions in the Western World is environmentalism. Environmentalism seems to be the religion of choice for urban atheists... Increasingly it seems facts aren't necessary, because the tenets of environmentalism are all about belief. Its about whether you are going to be a sinner, or saved. Whether you are going to be one of the people on the side of (ecological) salvation, or on the side of doom. Whether you are going to be one of us, or one of them."

     Many other indicative proofs can be found in headline stories carried by Yale University's Forum On Religion And Ecology At Yale. Just this week alone, the following press releases appeared on the forum’s web site:

Delegation To Join UN Climate Change Conference

     Environmentalism has indeed become the Trojan horse of a worldwide ecumenical faith that has"changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator." (Romans 1:25). This global lie should not surprise Bible believers for the scriptures plainly predict that the end-time population will "believe a lie". (See II Thessalonians 2: 10-11) To investigate more, just "google" the words "global warming world religion". The amount of information is enormous.

     2. Environmentalism Is The Trojan Horse For International Taxation. It is interesting to note that the Bible prophesies that the kingdom of the end time Antichrist will be preceded by a global "raiser of taxes". (Daniel 11:20) Could this new global "climate-tax" be the fulfillment of this prophecy?

     Since it is beyond the scope of this column to go into detail on the advent of global taxation, I offer links to three credible sources that expose the means and threat of global taxation.

Read Townhall commentator, Paul Driessen's climate tax story by clicking here.

Read the Fox News commentary on climate tax by clinking here.

Read the Heritage Foundation fact sheet on climate tax by clicking here.

     3. Environmentalism Is The Trojan Horse For A New Global Government. There is much that I could say concerning the imminent threat that the Copenhagen summit poses by imposing global government. However, Great Britain's Lord Christopher Monckton has stated it far better than I ever could. By all means, do join the 3.5 million others who have listened (in the last two months) to Lord Monckton deliver his warning to America concerning the Copenhagen Climate Change Treaty. To listen to Lord Monckton's warning just click on his photo below.

     The goal for a binding Copenhagen Treaty can and must be averted at all cost. Even now there are indications that patriotic political exposure has chastened President Obama and backed him away from his implied threat to sign a climate change treaty regardless of required congressional confirmation. As always, patriotic, God-fearing Americans (and good Christians of other nations too) must not forget that "The Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men". (Dan.4:27) Let us pray that God will once again thwart the earth's downward spiral toward a return to the Kingdom of Babel. To God alone be the glory!

I just received a Thanksgiving email from our President. It is interesting to contrast that to the first proclamation of Thanksgiving by the struggling nation in 1777. Let us give thanks this day that we are in a country with God as our founding cornerstone even if our present leadership will not even mention His name.

The First National Proclamation of Thanksgiving was given by the Continental Congress in 1777:

FOR AS MUCH as it is the indispensable Duty of all Men to adore the superintending Providence of Almighty God; to acknowledge with Gratitude their Obligation to him for Benefits received, and to implore such farther Blessings as they stand in Need of: And it having pleased him in his abundant Mercy, not only to continue to us the innumerable Bounties of his common Providence; but also to smile upon us in the Prosecution of a just and necessary War, for the Defense and Establishment of our unalienable Rights and Liberties; particularly in that he hath been pleased, in so great a Measure, to prosper the Means used for the Support of our Troops, and to crown our Arms with most signal success:
It is therefore recommended to the legislative or executive Powers of these UNITED STATES to set apart THURSDAY, the eighteenth Day of December next, for SOLEMN THANKSGIVING and PRAISE: That at one Time and with one Voice, the good People may express the grateful Feelings of their Hearts, and consecrate themselves to the Service of their Divine Benefactor; and that, together with their sincere Acknowledgments and Offerings, they may join the penitent Confession of their manifold Sins, whereby they had forfeited every Favor; and their humble and earnest Supplication that it may please GOD through the Merits of JESUS CHRIST, mercifully to forgive and blot them out of Remembrance; That it may please him graciously to afford his Blessing on the Governments of these States respectively, and prosper the public Council of the whole: To inspire our Commanders, both by Land and Sea, and all under them, with that Wisdom and Fortitude which may render them fit Instruments, under the Providence of Almighty GOD, to secure for these United States, the greatest of all human Blessings, INDEPENDENCE and PEACE: That it may please him, to prosper the Trade and Manufactures of the People, and the Labor of the Husbandman, that our Land may yield its Increase: To take Schools and Seminaries of Education, so necessary for cultivating the Principles of true Liberty, Virtue and Piety, under his nurturing Hand; and to prosper the Means of Religion, for the promotion and enlargement of that Kingdom, which consisteth "in Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost.
And it is further recommended, That servile Labor, and such Recreation, as, though at other Times innocent, may be unbecoming the Purpose of this Appointment, be omitted on so solemn an Occasion.”

Subject: Thanksgiving

Bob --

Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, Americans across the country will sit down together, count our blessings, and give thanks for our families and our loved ones.

American families reflect the diversity of this great nation. No two are exactly alike, but there is a common thread they each share.

Our families are bound together through times of joy and times of grief. They shape us, support us, instill the values that guide us as individuals, and make possible all that we achieve.

So tomorrow, I'll be giving thanks for my family -- for all the wisdom, support, and love they have brought into my life.

But tomorrow is also a day to remember those who cannot sit down to break bread with those they love.

The soldier overseas holding down a lonely post and missing his kids. The sailor who left her home to serve a higher calling. The folks who must spend tomorrow apart from their families to work a second job, so they can keep food on the table or send a child to school.

We are grateful beyond words for the service and hard work of so many Americans who make our country great through their sacrifice. And this year, we know that far too many face a daily struggle that puts the comfort and security we all deserve painfully out of reach.

So when we gather tomorrow, let us also use the occasion to renew our commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous future that every American family can enjoy.

It seems like a lifetime ago that a crowd met on a frigid February morning in Springfield, Illinois to set out on an improbable course to change our nation.

In the years since, Michelle and I have been blessed with the support and friendship of the millions of Americans who have come together to form this ongoing movement for change.

You have been there through victories and setbacks. You have given of yourselves beyond measure. You have enabled all that we have accomplished -- and you have had the courage to dream yet bigger dreams for what we can still achieve.

So in this season of thanks giving, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you, and my anticipation of the brighter future we are creating together.

With warmest wishes for a happy holiday season from my family to yours,

President Barack Obama
