LOCAL ACTION ALERTS

  • Despite overwhelming calls from the community for its removal, the CISD Board voted to retain the book, Lily and Dunkin, for 7th through 12th graders.

The Montgomery County Republican Party published an April 20th update on the hearing here.

Michele Nuckolls, who presented the argument before the CISD Board, published an April 25th update here.

  • Our children must be protected! On Tuesday, April 16, 6 pm, we have an opportunity to stand up as citizens to make our voices heard.

Conroe ISD is holding a Level 3 Hearing for Lily and Dunkin, by Donna Gephart, a book still available to 7th and 8th graders.

Please attend this hearing to show that our community does not agree with having gender fluidity (gender affirming surgeries, hormone blockers) information via books, scholastics, or other materials given to minors!

It passed in a 3 to 1 vote. Commissioner James Noack was not present and Commissioner Riley was the only no vote.

  • A new library policy for removal of inappropriate books for children in our county public libraries is being voted on TOMORROW at the Montgomery County Commissioners Court. Please attend Commissioners Court tomorrow morning at 9:30 am to show your support of Agenda Item 10.A. WEAR RED! Get there early to get a seat!

    Conroe, Texas 77301

The current public library policy in Montgomery County allows inappropriate, destructive books to be easily accessed by children. When parents or local citizens raise the alarm about a particular book, it is sent to the Reconsideration Committee, which currently is run by librarians who are not elected or appointed by elected officials for terms. In the most recent meeting of the Reconsideration Committee, two books were considered: The Pants Project, by Cat Clark and George (aka Melissa), by Alex Gino. The decision was made to leave these books in the children’s section where third graders could easily pick them up.

If this is a cause that is near and dear to your heart, please show up TOMORROW, March 26, at Montgomery County Commissioners Court in Conroe at 9:30 am. Get there EARLY. It will be packed with parents on BOTH SIDES. Please wear RED in support of Agenda Item 10.A.

    Send Your Commissioner an Email

You’re also encouraged to send an email to your Commissioner. Here’s a suggested email from Michele Nuckolls of Two Moms and Some Books:

    Dear Commissioner,

I am writing to urge your support for Item 10.A. on the March 26, 2024, Commissioners Court Open Agenda (consider, discuss and take appropriate action relating to the Library Reconsideration Materials Policy).

By giving citizens a voice in shaping the accessibility of content in our public libraries, we can strengthen our efforts to protect our children and uphold the values of our community.

I will be attending court wearing a red shirt in support of this agenda item, but I will not speak out of respect for your time.

Thank you for your support of this very important agenda item.

  • Texas Eagle Forum is proud to announce it has joined with Texas Right to Life in their lawsuit aganst the City of San Antonio for its taxpayer-funded $500,000 “Reproductive Justice Fund.” Even in a Post-Roe world, children in the womb are under attack by an enemy who “was a murderer from the beginning…the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

If the City of San Antonio gets away with using taxpayer money to end the lives of innocent children, other cities will follow suit. Therefore, we must send a clear message to every Texas city that taxpayer money may not be used to fund lethal criminal activities under the guise of justice and reproductive rights.

  • A message from Faith Votes CIT:

    Dear Patriots:

If you live in the Conroe Independent School District, we are sharing this CALL TO ACTION initiative from Texas Representative Steve Toth. If you want your voice heard, please send an email using the suggested wording to each of the CISD Board of Trustees before the next CISD Board meeting on October 17th. Please consider attending the board meeting as well to show your support for this initiative and the Mama Bears Conservative Trustees.

    SUGGESTED EMAIL WORDING:

    Dear Trustee,

Parents and teachers keep finding inappropriate books in Conroe Independent School District. We must have a stronger policy to protect our kids from explicit books. Whatever policy we are currently using is clearly not working. I petition you to support a SERIOUS book policy to remove sexually explicit books from CISD at the next school board meeting.

  • In an effort to garner support in the community for the upcoming bond election on November 7th, Conroe Independent School District has scheduled several public presentations as well as town halls. Conroe ISD seems to be making every effort to direct the narrative about the nearly $2 billion proposed school bond, which has four propositions.

The Montgomery County Republican Party posted an article on the bonds as well as the upcoming presentations and town halls.

  • Conservative school board members in Montgomery County are being persecuted for exposing pornographic library books and the indoctrination of children in our schools. Read more about the latest efforts to intimidate local school board members here.

Godly men and women are needed to stand with our Christian Conservative board members who are putting themselves on the line for our kids!

Please pray for these board members and watch the local events calendar on our Home Page for upcoming school board meetings. You can sign up to speak or just attend and show your support by clapping for speakers you agree with. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in Montgomery County.

  • Consider attending your school board meetings and speaking out about the obscene books YOUR tax dollars are paying for in our public schools

Leftist activists are showing up, but few Christians are attending local school board meetings. We need to wake the "sleeping giant” and get involved! Christians MUST have a presence at school board meetings, making 2-3 minute statements supporting the selection of quality reading materials for our school libraries. (Keep in mind that just because a book is "award winning" doesn't make it appropriate for our school-aged children.)

To sign up to speak, please arrive 30 min. early.

How many of these types of books are in your school district's library? What is your district's policy that has been created by your school board? Does the policy value the parent's concerns and make it easy for the parent to protect their child?

You may not have children or grandchildren in your school district, but you are likely concerned about the general welfare of children. • We urge you to attend the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees Meeting Regular Board Meeting on Tues., Jan. 17, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Board Room located in the Deane L. Sadler Administration/Technology Center located at 3205 W. Davis Street, Conroe, Texas.

Click here for additional information including the agenda.

If led, sign up to speak at the meeting to show support for Agenda Item IX-Legal A: Consider Trustee’s Request to be a Standing Member on all Book Reconsideration Committees. Having a Trustee (preferably one of the recently elected Mama Bear Trustees - Melissa Dungan, Tiffany Baumann Nelson, Misty Odenweller) as a Standing Member on all Book Reconsideration Committees will make the CISD Board more responsible and accountable to oversee the review process currently done by an unelected internal committee.

In addition to showing up and speaking at the upcoming CISD Board Meeting, it is equally IMPORTANT to let the board members know by email that you fully support the appointment of a board member (preferably one of the recently elected Mama Bears - Melissa Dungan, Tiffany Baumann Nelson, Misty Odenweller) to oversee this review process currently done by an unelected internal committee. Sadly, inappropriate books continue to get a pass by this committee requiring an appeal process by parents.
